Pickup

Getting from Milas–Bodrum to the peninsula.

Milas–Bodrum Airport has an international and a domestic terminal, and it is busiest from May to October. Local rental companies usually meet you in arrivals with a name sign; some deliver to your hotel on the peninsula instead.

The Bodrum peninsula is made for driving: Gümüşlük for fish restaurants at sunset, Yalıkavak marina, Turgutreis market, and small coves on the north coast that buses do not reach. Distances are short, but roads between the villages are narrow and climb steeply.

Parking is the main challenge. Bodrum town centre, Yalıkavak and Gümbet fill up in July and August, and most car parks are paid. A compact car makes daily life easier.

If you are staying in Bodrum town and plan few day trips, compare an airport pickup with a few days’ rental from a local office instead.
