Desk, meet-and-greet or shuttle?

Airport car rental in Turkey works in three ways, and the offer page says which one applies:

Whichever it is, your voucher gives the meeting point and a phone number to call after landing.

Late and delayed arrivals

Add your flight number to the booking so the supplier can follow delays. Arrivals late at night or very early in the morning can carry an out-of-hours fee, which is shown on the offer when it applies.

Returning the car

Allow time for traffic, for refuelling near the airport and for the handover itself, then add your airline’s check-in time. Photograph the car, the fuel gauge and the mileage when you return it.

One-way between airports

Many suppliers allow a car collected at one airport to be returned at another, for example Izmir to Dalaman or Dalaman to Antalya. Set a different drop-off location in the search; any one-way fee is included in the total.

Questions

Airport pickup questions

Short answers. The conditions of the car you choose always take priority.

How does meet-and-greet car rental work at Turkish airports?

A representative of the rental company waits in the arrivals hall with your name, walks you to the car and completes the paperwork there. Your voucher shows where to meet and who to call.

Can I rent a car at a Turkish airport without a deposit or credit card?

Yes. Many local suppliers at Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum, Izmir and the Istanbul airports offer no-deposit and no-credit-card cars. Use the filters in the search.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

If you added your flight number, the supplier can follow the delay. Call the number on your voucher after landing. Late arrivals can carry an out-of-hours fee.

Can I collect at one airport and return at another?

Often yes. Set a different drop-off location in the search to see the total including any one-way fee.

Before you book

Deposit, payment card and tolls: know the difference before you book

These three conditions cause most surprises at a rental desk in Turkey. Each offer shows them before you pay.

No Deposit

Many local suppliers rent without a security deposit or accept it in cash. Others block an amount on a card until the car is returned. The offer shows which.

No Credit Card

Local suppliers commonly accept a debit card or cash at pickup. International brands usually want a credit card in the main driver’s name.

Motorway tolls (HGS)

Turkish toll roads are fully electronic. Rental cars carry an HGS tag and the company charges the tolls after the rental, so ask how it bills them.
